The Rafale trade conflict is the political dispute in India associated with the acquisition of 36 multirole fighter aircraft for the cost estimated in €7.8 billion by the defense Ministry of India from france's Dassault Aviation. The origin of this trade lies in the Asian MRCA contest, the multi-billion dollar bid to provide 126 multi-role combat aircraft to the Asian Air Force (IAF ). On 31 Jan 2012, the Asian Ministry of defense announced that Dassault Rafale had won this MMRCA contest to provide the Asian Air power with 126 aircraft, together with the option for 63 additional aircraft. Rafale was selected as the lowest bidder based on life-cycle price, which is the unit of price of acquiring, running cost over the period of 40 years and cost of transfer of technology These negotiations with Dassault dragged on because of discrepancies on warranty for craft created by HAL. India needed Dassault to guarantee the level of Craft created by HAL , But Dassault refused to do so.

these Rafale planes were taken in 2012 during the UPA II term at craft offers from United States, Russia and Europe. The first idea was to purchase 18 off-the-shelf airplanes from Dassault and 108 others could placed jointly by bharat's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (Hal ), located at Bengaluru, to boost the Make-In-India initiative. 4) at Sept 2016, India ratified the intergovernmental statement (IGA) with France where India could give Rs 58,000 crore (7.87 billion euros) for that 36 twin-engine fighters. At 15 per cent of the price is being paid ahead of time. Including that 36 aircraft, India could also take some newest weaponry like the light and Scalp missiles.
